Gerard combines teaching & research with working in his specialist Pelvic health Physio clinics in Birmingham, UK. He also teaches at the Coventry University as an associate professor. He was invited to present at WCPT 2017 in Cape Town and has also delivered Male pelvic health courses for the South African Society Physiotherapy (2017) and the Japanese Physical Therapy Association (2018) and is currently working with the American Physical Therapy Assoc.

Dr. Ronél studied at the Physiotherapy Department at the University of Pretoria where she obtained a PhD in 2005. She also lectured at the same University for almost 15 years at undergraduate as well as postgraduate levels, lecturing mainly in OMPT and movement sciences. She was involved in the development of OMPT curricula for undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the University of Pretoria, the OMPT Course for the OMPTG, as well as the national standardisation of OMPT curricula on a Masters level. She supervised numerous undergraduate and MSc research studies and dissertations. She was external examiner at several universities for undergraduate and postgraduate examinations and also for MSc research dissertations.
She presented lectures and courses for the South African Society of Hand Therapists, as well as for the postgraduate Diploma in Hand Therapy at the University of Pretoria. She also was a consultant at the Temperomandibular Clinic at the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Pretoria. She published several articles and contributed chapters to a book on Craniofacial Pain by Harry von Piekartz. She presented research papers at many national and international congresses, focusing on craniofacial issues and adolescent low back pain and health.

Dr. Alison Rushton is Physiotherapy Academic Lead, in the School of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences, and Programme Leader for the MSc Exercise and Sports Medicine (Football) programme.
She has been awarded a fellowship of the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists MACP and Honorary membership of the OMT Espana Terapia Manual Ortopedica for her national and international contribution to the development of manipulative physiotherapy. Alison’s background in research reflects activity in two areas: musculoskeletal (particularly low back pain, spinal surgery and Whiplash Associated Disorder), and professional development in manipulative physiotherapy.

Musculoskeletal focused research activity:
Physiotherapy management post lumbar discectomy (PI): survey of current practice, systematic review and meta-analysis, and pilot work to inform multicentre RCT.
Physiotherapy management post lumbar fusion (PI): systematic review and meta-analysis, survey of current practice physiotherapists and surgeons, systematic review of prognostic factors informing effective management.
Physiotherapy management Whiplash Associated Disorder (PI): systematic review and meta-analysis, pilot and feasibility work.
Physiotherapy led physical activity intervention (PI): development of intervention and pilot work.
Evaluation of physiotherapy independent prescribing (PI): developmental work.

Dr. Ulyseses Juntila (President of Philippine Association of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists)

Dr. Juntilla is a practicing Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapist with the Veterans Health Administration for 11 years in which he is currently the Clinical Education Program Coordinator. He is a Diplomate with American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties in Orthopedic PT and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. In addition, he is an Advanced Credentialed Clinical instructor through APTA. Dr. Juntilla presented numerous presentations nationally and internationally in the field of Orthopedic Manual PT. Prior to working at the VHA, he was a member of the faculty at Asian Institute of Medical Sciences, Asian College of Technology in which he taught Gross Anatomy and Physiology. He is currently serving as President of the Philippine Association of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists.

Safety and comfort in mobilisation and HVT to the cervical spine

Dr. Duncan Reid (Auckland University of Technology)

Duncan is a Professor of Physiotherapy within the Faculty of Health and Environmental; Science, Auckland University of Technology
Duncan has had 38 years of clinical experience in Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy. His main areas of interest are in manual and manipulative therapy especially manipulation to the cervical spine, a topic he has taught both nationally and internationally. His research interests have also included sports injury incidence and prevention, sports related concussion, the management of knee injuries, and has completed his doctoral thesis investigating the effects of lower limb stretching interventions on patients with OA of the knee.
He is a Fellow of the New Zealand College of Physiotherapy and a life member of NZMPA and Physiotherapy NZ.
Duncan's experience in Sports Physiotherapy is also extensive. He has been a member of the Olympic and Commonwealth Games Medical team from 1988 until the Sydney Olympics in 2000 and was Chief Physiotherapist for the 1992, 1994 and 1996 Games. Duncan is the Physiotherapy Advisor for High Performance Sport NZ.
He has over 300 peer review journal and book publications and is on the editorial panel of the journals Musculoskeletal Science and Practice, Manual and Manipulative Therapy and the Journal of Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy.

Dr. Kenneth A. Olson is the president and managing partner of the physical therapy private practice Northern Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine Associates in DeKalb, Illinois, USA. He completed the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences’ Master of Science and Doctor of Health Science degrees in orthopaedic manual physical therapy. In addition to being a board certified clinical specialist in orthopaedic physical therapy, he is fellowship trained in manual physical therapy from the University of St. Augustine.
He has published in numerous peer-reviewed journals and presented courses throughout the United States in the manual physical therapy diagnosis and management of spine and TMJ disorders and is the author of the textbook titled: Manual Physical Therapy of the Spine 2nd Edition published by Saunders, Elsevier; 2016.
